Dr. Kalliopi Dodou
Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Sciences,
Programme Leader for Cosmetic Science,
University of Sunderland
Dr. Dodou has a First Class Honours BSc in Pharmacy, a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (FHEA).
She is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (MRPharmS), registered with GPharmC, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).
She has been an academic at the University of Sunderland since 2004 and have taught the MPharm and undergraduate and postgraduate pharmaceutical sciences courses.
She designs and currently leads BSc (Hons) Cosmetic Science. She also leads MSc Cosmetic Science.
Alongside to her teaching, she leads the research on the design and quality control of transdermal dosage forms including hydrogels, the stabilisation of drugs via amorphous solid dispersions, and the design of cosmetic formulations.

The University of Sunderland's BSc (Hons) Cosmetic Science Overview
The BSc(Hons) Cosmetic Science at the University of Sunderland, introduces relevant aspects of chemistry, physiology and dermatology as well as the regulatory marketing and business framework for cosmetics. You’ll also be introduced to the principles of formulation, with an emphasis on those related to cosmetics.
Graduates from Singapore Polytechnic's Diploma in Perfumery and Cosmetic Science with a GPA of 3.0 and above will gain admission to the 2nd year of the degree and complete the degree in just 2 years. The 2023/2024 annual tuition fee for the University of Sunderland's BSc(Hons) Cosmetic Science is £14,000 (approx. SGD 23,000) and there are scholarships available too.
