According to Statistics Canada, the average tuition fees for undergraduate international students in 2019/20 are CA$29,714 (~SG$30,200) per year, which is lower than studying in most popular study abroad destinations like Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Working Part-Time as an International Student
International students enrolled at a designated learning institution (DLI) on a full-time post-secondary academic program that is at least 6 months long are eligible to work part-time in Canada. Students can work up to 20 hours per week on regular school terms/semester and full-time on their academic breaks. You can find the minimum hourly wage of the respective province here.
Post-Graduation Work Permit Program
After graduating from an eligible Canadian designated learning institution (DLI), a post-graduation work permit may be issued based on the length of the study program for a minimum of 8 months up to a maximum of 3 years.If the length of the program is 2 years or longer as confirmed by the eligible DLI in the written confirmation of program completion (such as an official letter or transcript), the length of the work permit should be 3 years.
Permanent Residency
In a 2019 new article by CNN, Canada plans to add more than one million new permanent residents in the next 3 years. 350,000 in 2019, 360,000 in 2020 and 370,000 in 2021.
