Singapore plans to build four new general hospitals between 2020-2030 and six new polyclinics by 2023. Allied health professionals like occupational therapist, physiotherapist, diagnostic radiographers, speech language therapist and radiation therapist are highly sought after for to meet the demands in Singapore’s healthcare industry. To become a qualified physiotherapist in Singapore, you should have the a bachelor degree from the following universities: 1) Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) – 4 Years 2)  Overseas institutions recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) 3-4 Years History of Physiotherapy in the UK There are 75 pre-registration physiotherapy programmes from different providers throughout the UK and seventeen of them are accredited by Singapore’s AHPC. Great Britain was one of the earliest countries to form a professional physiotherapy body (after Sweden), The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).The Society was established in 1894 as the Society of Trained Masseuses by four nurses and was awarded its Royal Charter in 1920. The CSP acts as the professional, educational and trade union body for over 59,000 chartered physiotherapists, physio students and physiotherapy support workers. Singapore AHPC recognised UK institutions for Physiotherapy Programmes Studying in the UK is more affordable than most people think. The 2020/2021 tuition fee for a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy ranges from £12,250 (approx. SGD 22,181) to £26,700 (approx. SGD 48,344) per year and the duration is from 3 to 4 years. Minimum entry requirements are A-Level or Polytechnic Diploma.Some UK universities like Teesside University, does not require a relevant diploma.
