International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an examination that tests your English ability in academic contexts. It is an examination for candidates wishing to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, and for those seeking professional registration. IELTS is accepted by most English-speaking academic institutions and various professional organizations to supplement English level requirements or in some cases, will be for student visa purposes

In the IELTS Preparatory Course, students will refine their language skills in speaking, writing, reading, and listening in preparation for the IELTS exam. During the course, students will be taught the format and structure of the exam, as well as important exam strategies. It is recommended that students take the Advanced English classes before taking the IELTS course.

The IELTS exam preparation course focuses on the Academic Module and helps you improve the skills you are required to master in order to take the test. During the course you will practice Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing skills using IELTS course materials and practice tests. You will become familiar with real exam settings from the first lesson and take regular mock IELTS tests to monitor your progress.

The more you understand the format and improve your ability, you be able to master it and score well to achieve the desired scores required and beyond.

Something about our IELTS Specialist Trainer

An educator at heart, Ms. Adeline Peh started tutoring English and maths after secondary school. She gained her Diploma in Marketing from Singapore Polytechnic and after having graduated in Marketing & Electronic Commerce from Curtin University of Technology (Perth, Australia) in 2003, she obtained her CELTA from Milner International College of English (Perth) in 2006.

She has since taught both general and academic English in Perth, Singapore, and Korea. Her students include those from Asia, South America, Europe, and the Middle East. She has taught in a number of educational institutions, the longest being at James Cook University in the English Language Prep Programme, preparing students for university. Currently, she trains students for IELTS, foreign teachers for TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) exams, and tutors for the Cancer Society.

In her constant pursuit of lifelong learning and her love of language, she spent two years in Italy learning Italian and is currently trying her hand at Japanese as she believes in putting herself in her students’ shoes, trying to understand the issues faced by adult learners of foreign languages. I’m applying to live and work as a nurse in Australia and needed to get 7 in Academic IELTS so I’m happy that I got 7.5. Adeline has been very helpful and encouraging. She is patient and gives me extra grammar and vocabulary exercises when I ask her because I am not really good in grammar. Sometimes she brings in newspaper articles for us to discuss in class. It is good to hear opinions from my classmates and get ideas for writing

Miss Adeline reminds me all the time about my pronunciation because Vietnamese pronunciation and accent are usually very strong and difficult to understand so she makes me practice at home with the mirror and recording my speaking. She also makes me do a lot of listening practice. I liked our lessons because there was a lot of information to learn and we did exam practice and strategies which helped me in my test.
